Thank you for your interest in my latest design Wild Spirit, if you have seen my other patterns, you know that I love Native American designs so that’s why I wanted to create a whole picture pattern for the first time.
An overlay mosaic crochet design using US terminology. At the start and finish of every row will be a single crochet stitch. These are separate to the pattern, and you will go through both loops of these stitches at either end. I call these Anchor stitches, AS. Every single crochet is written as ‘s’, and every double crochet is written as ‘D’. I hope that you find it as easy as I do! You cut the yarn and alternate the colours with each row.
This design is 178 stitches by 165 rows and has a written pattern, detailed border and charts, and a full chart of the whole pattern, they are all in separate PDFs so check your library.
I used 4PLY Scheepjes Whirl, Scrumptious Lush and Scheepjes Whirlette in Tasty Treat, with a size 3mm hook.
It was the first time I’ve used such thin yarn, but the result is lovely although much smaller than I expected, my
testers yarn usage is at the bottom of the PDF, they used double knit yarn so there’s came out much bigger,
have a look. My blanket without the border weighs 316g. For my border I used the surplus yarn left amounting to an extra 112g.
Scrumptious Lush 225g-1000m cake, I used 182g-958m. 1 cake.
Tasty Treat 100g-455m cake, I used 134g-609m. 2 cakes. My blanket size with the border in 4ply yarn, width 79cm, height 70cm. See the testers information at the end
of the PDF for other yarn usage.
I have all of my testers information in the written pattern PDF for more detailed information.
In Double knit yarn the measurements are approximately 115/95cm, using a total of 850g.
In Aran worsted weight yarn the measurements are approximately 56x46 inches.

Welcome!
I create overlay mosaic crochet patterns, I love how creative I can be with just single and double crochet stitches.
I create simple to more complex patterns such as center out techniques, there’s pictorial help and video links in the downloads.
You might notice that all of my patterns have the words spirit or flow in the names, this is my dedication to my late father who was a drummer in a number of bands in the 80’s called “With the Flow” and “Kindled Spirit” and I chose to put those words into my pattern names.
Thank you for your support!
